The Sentry 3.1 call Screener does what its requested in this household. And that is to stop all those ROBO calls that we get daily. We have had up to 60 calls a day from unknown's and companies that offer stuff u dont want or need, No more IRS or Windows support calls w the heavy Indian accent! To which I always ask them is their refrigerator running ... and maybe they should catch it first before we continue. LOL The software is basic and it's not as feature rich as I would like it. The screen is not to most legabile to those that have eyesight issues. But It does the basic function of stopping calls. The only issue is that the white list function ( press 0 ) to real people is somewhat confusing to them. Especially the elderly. And they don't get that they should call back. But those situations are few and far between what it does .. to stop those unwanted calls. Setting up the unit was fairly simple and it helps if you a bit "techie orientated" as the instructions are weak and cover the basics. It also helps to have all you know phone numbers white listed. Medical FIre Police. and maybe your mother-in- law, but I will leave that up to you. I do like that it reports the callers phone number to do a call back to see if they are legit or not. and most of the time they are not in service phone numbers. How they can get away w that is what "really Grinds My Gears".Read full review

4 Stars only because the unit does not pass callerID to the phone line when it allows a call to pass. The CID information does show on the unit's display, but that limits where you can see the information. We got around this by wiring it in parallel to the line, but now we hear the phone ring once in order to have Alexa announce who is calling when we do get a "real call". But... I can deal with one ring and gone. The Robo Calls were about to drive me crazy. Now it is a lot more peaceful at my house, and my wife gets to keep the landline. It also does not ring the connected phone when a caller presses 0, instead it beeps. That is no good in a larger house. You may or may not be near enough to hear it. I would buy this again unless I found another unit that would pass CID when callers of the White List call. Read full review

The unit screens calls but doesn’t ring the phones it has a ring on the device - it works but we can’t hear the calls that are our friends and families through out our house - okay for a studio apartment I guess. The call blocking features work just not impressed with its inability to ring phones in other rooms.

So far all junk robo type calls blocked. Better then the Callblocker 5000 now unplugged and sitting next to it. Callblocker let's all calls except the ones you manually block go through. Now no more early morning wake up calls, Yea.

This call screen device uses the most effective screening technique in that it does not rely only on a black list to block calls but rather requires the caller to press '0' to connect through. So far it works well. I have programmed about 40 white list numbers of family and friends. Others will be blocked. I did not use the personal OGM so I can't really rate the recording quality but if it is anything like the prerecorded message, I found that quite good. Some of the programming doesn't work exactly like in the manual, so like others, the manual could probably be better stated. Still, though, it wasn't really too difficult to set up.
