Good insight into the role played by the media in exposing the Watergate scandal. Robert Redford maintains his usual high standard in acting and Dustin Hoffman is simply fabulous as the tenacious investigative journalist. Because of the nature of the subject the movie is rather long and requires an extra effort on the audience's part to stay focused. It is worth the effort, though, even if the entertainment value is diminished as a result.

I'm doing Media Law through Open Uni and this film is about one of the greatest media stories. Two of the greatest and best loved actors in the staring roles. Their performances were energetic and believable. I could not believe I had not already had this film in my collection. If academy awards matters then it obtained 1976 best supporting actor, adapted screenplay, art direction and sound. How can a film award system be fair dinkim when the people who risk their health, safety and lives through stunts, not be included in the awards in its 85 years history. Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman both at their best. No other actors could do these roles justice. Journalist doing a very honest job.
