Region 1 DVD sales in Region 2 !!
Gentlemen, meet one very unhappy customer !!! I bought two copies of the above DVD, one from USA, and one from Australia, about a week apart. BOTH were for region 1, which fact was NOT readily visible from the info on screen, and they do not play on UK equipment ! I am now trying to find some way of converting my player to all region, or of getting one of these copies converted, to play on my equipment. Anchors Aweigh DVD
This film was a wonderful adventure. Kathryn Grayson was gorgeous and her voice was heavenly. Gene Kelly's dancing easily stole the show, particularly with cartoon character Jerry of Tom and Jerry fame. How difficult this must have been to coordinate in 1945. His leaps off buildings and flamenco type dancing were something else. Gene Kelly's warmth with the children was special, particularly dancing with the little senorita. Frank Sinatra was so young and his solos weren't shabby, either. Jose Iturbi was wonderful as conductor and pianist. I can't say enough. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Please buy the dvd.
