I mean, what can you say about the Nintendo Game Boy that hasn't already been said? One of the most popular line of hand held gaming consoles in the history of gaming! Got mine when it first came out and have been a fan of hand held devices ever since. The system made it's debut in 1989 and some of the units you come across are pretty rough shape. I bought 3 after market replacement shells for each Game Boy and was very pleased with the end result. The hand helds look and play like they were brand new out of the box. I went with a conservative design this time around but am probably going to swap them out with more exotic looking exteriors.

I decided to buy an old GameBoy Pocket due to the fact I grew up on GBs.. from the original all the way up through the DS Lite.. but the only system I never had was a game boy pocket. A testament to design and quality: shortly after purchasing my first DS Lite, it took a tumble down the stairs.. and broke into about 20 pieces. Shortly after buying this GB Pocket.. same thing, only it broke into 2 pieces. I picked it up and put the battery door back on, turned it on.. no problems. The old addage applies: They dont make 'em like they used to! I can honestly say I play my pocket more than I do my DS. Sorry nintendo, maybe next time dont try to make something that looks like a Sega GameGear, and stick with the product that won the market back in the day. I suddenly get the urge to buy a PSP next... (note the similarities betwen the original Nintendo DS, The Sega GameGear, and the Sony PSP.. scary huh?)Read full review

I bought this because it looks loke the exact gameboy I played when I was younger. The gameboy came exactly as it is described a little worn, but what product isn't that's 20 years old? Works wonderfully(already putting in dozens hours on pokemon and gargoyles). Thanks for the great product

And wow I am actually impressed by how fun it is to play even in the modern day and age. Sure you can't play it in the dark and it has no colors, but when it comes to a fun casual experience, it's aged very well.

Gameboy is in decent shape, other than a few scratches mainly on the backside but all normal wear an tear on it. Wasn't aware of how dark the actual playing screen was going to be and its almost impossible to see at times but I am assuming just needs a back light or something for it I am not sure. Just was unaware of the extra costs associated with gameboy.

The first Game Boy I ever played with as a kid, but I never owned one, until now. Gotta say that this thing is still pretty stylish even though it's like 10-15 years old....or more. Has a nice big screen [bigger than the Game Boy Color]. It's just nice to have one, perfect for kids and collectors!
I like that it is much smaller than the original. It uses AAA batteries so that makes it lighter. The screen color is more grey than the yellow of the old style. The sound is good, buttons work well. Huge variety of colors. Beware when purchasing this on ebay, many of them have the battery cover missing. Apparently the battery door friction locking mechanism is easily misused/handled.
