In this Japanese animated fantasy based on Mary Norton’s novel, ‘The Borrowers,’ Arrietty encounters Sho, a 12-year-old human with a heart condition, on her first borrowing mission. In this DVD of the animated fantasy, Arrietty befriends Sho during her many ventures to borrow sugar cubes, much against her parents’ wishes who strongly wish to lead a secret life. This DVD reveals how Sho’s maid unearths the borrowers and leaves no stone unturned to get rid of them. In "The Secret World of Arrietty", escape is the only solution and the strong-spirited borrowers manage to defy death by resilience. Inspired by his little friends, Sho is motivated to hope for his survival and even at their farewell the unique friends exchange beautiful remembrances. Very sweet in portrayl, "The Secret World of Arrietty" will keep you hooked and smiling.
