When I looked at the instructions I was initially worried when saw that they tell you to download an app, but I was relieved to find out that you don't need to install the app to use the unit, you can do everything just using the buttons on the top. The only criticism is I would have liked the option to use a remote - I suppose that's what the app is for, but obviously I'm not using it.

That's a lot of time. I think the air purifier is good value for money.
