About this product

Product Information

ASHANTI is breathtaking adventure of a man who resolutely takes on a treacherous journey in order to find his beautiful wife, who has been kidnapped by ruthless slave traders. David and Anansa Linderby (Michael Caine and Beverly Johnson) are doctors with the World Health Organization. On a medical mission, they visit a West African village. While David takes photographs of tribal dancers, Anansa goes swimming alone. She is attacked and abducted by slave traders led by Suleiman (Peter Ustinov). Enraged, David sets off after Anansa. As David tracks her across Africa and the Sahara desert, he is helped by a member of the Anti-Slavery League (Rex Harrison), a helicopter pilot (William Holden), and Malik (Kabir Bedi) a tribesman who is seeking revenge on Suleiman.

  • The worst movie ever made

What this movie is really about is a fairly good actor trying to get his beautiful wife into this movie in order to say one line that justifies him marrying a gorgeous black woman less than half his age. To help him get this done he arranged some of his well know show biz stars to make cameo appearances. These star characters were probably in the film for less than five minutes, listed as co-stars. It's little more than a home film for this one persons humongous ego. Please take this off the market and destroy the master.
