Excellent!
This Smart Clock Essential is a great value, especially if you catch one on sale. The quality is good and it is truly targeted at the essential functions of a small clock, time, alarms, easy to see and read display, easy operation, and then you have the smart display Google Assistant features all on top of that. You also get the physical buttons to control volume, functions, set alarms, etc., if you prefer rather than doing it by voice. Sound quality is very good for such a small device and everything works as described and expected. I am very happy with this device which replaces my old clock radio (GE model over 30 yrs old and still working fine, they don't make em like they used to). Very Old Model and TOO BRIGHT for the nightstand at night.
A few things to mention- I was thinking it was the model that I already had with the touch screen as was planning on giving it to a friend. Appears this is a first generation ( not clearly defined). The Take Backs= 1. The bloody LED light showing the time and temp are WAY too bright to have on a nightstand and there is no way ( that I could find) to dim them- They practically light up the entire bedroom and keep me awake. Guess I will take it to my bind friend to use. 2. As I said in the start, there is no way to change things. Fourth Google Home device in the house. This was a nice addition.
Works very well. I've gotten used to streaming music through google home appliances and it works very well. I like the weather icon on this particular unit. The unit has a very adjustable screen brightness along with a night light in the back. I used the additional USB to keep a phone charger handy. Great! (if you can find one that's really new)
As of this writing, there have been three generations of Lenovo Google Assistant-enabled nightstand clocks. This is the original model (#ZA4R0002US) and has several advantages over succeeding generations. For one, it features a touchscreen (as opposed to the "replacement" Essentials model which has an LED screen). Although not a true display (you cannot play videos or place video calls), it does feature a variety of attractive clock faces, pleasing icons, and more "fingertip" controls. It also sports better audio specs than the Essential (which is less expensive). The latest model, dubbed Smart Clock 2, reprises the touchscreen and extends support for the display (by allowing photo feeds and camera streams), but it does not provide a USB port (for charging your phone on the nightstand) without an accompanying dock which adds $20 to the total cost. The Clock 2 is certainly worth a look, but the original is, in my opinion, the better choice (since you'll be asleep most of the time you're using it!). The only problem with the original however, is that it is out of stock virtually everywhere (including the Lenovo online store). With the new Clock 2, I would not be surprised to see it phased out of production. You can, however, find the original on eBay. However, please be aware. There are unscrupulous sellers who are misrepresenting the original model as "New", when, in fact, they are refurbished. This happened to me, and I did not discover it until it was in hand. I've expressed my displeasure to the seller, but will "release the Kraken" if it proves to be damaged or faulty. Won't know that until my grandson fires it up on Christmas Day. (Shhhh, it's a secret, so don't say anything to him).

Compact and easy to use
I was looking for a clock for my night table. This clock is compact and has big numbers, so can be easily read by people of certain age. As a plus, it can be manage from Google home, which I am just learning to use, and allow me to play some music from my phone, or from Spotify. Great clock for the money.
Easy to see time and temperature. Has all the features of a Google speaker. Alarm feature triggers a back light to gradually come on, increasing in brightness before the alarm sounds. Night light can also be activated separately. Digital readout dims somewhat during evening hours but will increase in brightness if a light is turned on.
