Bessie Smith was rightly called "The Empress of the Blues" for her 160 classic recordings between 1923 and 1933. Rory's unique acoustic blues interpretations of Bessie Smith's material remind us how powerful the songs are and how talented Rory is. Rory Block actively tours internationally. Each new release is a high profile occasion in the blues community. She is nominated for two 2018 Blues Music Awards.
