    Upgrade from Pentium D

    My laptop is a Acer 4630z. It originally came with a Pentium D chip at 2 GHz. I bought this chip based on the multiplier. Seeing that most laptop bus speeds are locked. With a multiplier of 12 & front bus speed of 166 I expected to maintain the 2 Ghz speed, but nope. This chip boosted the front bus speed to 200. times that by 12 & you have 2.4 Ghz speed. I have seen heat spike over 75 degrees c. (watching Netflix) & that's hotter than I'd prefer so I'm going to look into better cooling options, Or another chip. Overall I'm very satisfied with this chip. Unlike my Dell Inspiron 2200 I did have to full dismantle my laptop to install.

    Works for a while, but then HDMI port stops working

    I originally bought this device for streaming purposes, and it worked well for the first few days, albeit with not great video quality at default. After those few days, the device had stopped working, with video only showing up if you put the hdmi cable in a certain way. Not reliable.

    Great for older core2duo

    This is one of the best early core to duos and is more likely to fit old laptops that are socket P. Keeps up with T8300 and only about 15% slower than T9300 costing a lot more. If you know what you are doing a great fix for under a fiver.

    Very cheap, very simple performance enhancer.

    I bought this CPU for an old Acer laptop. It works very well, and no point in going to a more expensive T9000 series. (It replaced a Celeron 550 which was horribly slow.) Recommended upgrade for older socket p Intel boards.
