I love these boards for Xeon
I've been putting Xeon E3-1230v2 CPUs in these. You get decent clock speed 8 thread system with 16GB RAM. It may be old but being Intel they game pretty well. They handle Linux Mint and Windows 10 both really well. Yeah, it's not a monster system but very responsive like a little sports car. I keep saying I'm going to stop building these and move entirely to RYZEN but AMD does not really beat one of these until you've spent a lot more money. This MSI board in particular is nice because it takes the newer 1155 CPUs which run a bit cooler and so easier to build with. The boards themselves are not particularly cheap but you make massive savings on the CPU and RAM. Go with Xeon and fit a cheap R5 340 GPU rather than i7 to get the best overall performance for your money. Initial "hiccup", but now working fine
It is now working fine, however, when it arrived, 2 pins on the CPU socket were bent and if it was not for the skill of the people at my local computer shop, using a high powered magnifying glass, it would have been useless. The problem was probably caused by the lack of a CPU socket plastic protector in a secondhand motherboard.
