Some games are coded for JP NTSC systems but i you have a retron 3 HD or AV with the J ntsc and N ntsc switch you can switch between regions with no issue to play the Japan region coded games. Fast load times on cartridge as well, much better than the snes version which I also own and am slightly disappointed with because certain roms are just unplayable on the Snes cart
