      Starrett T 226XRL - 4 micrometer, and the Starrett 226 series are the best ever made!

      Starrett's 226 series micrometers are, in my experience and opinion the finest 2 -- 6 inch micrometers ever made. Rugged, Aesthetically beautiful, easy to read, their zero-adjustment is the easiest of any micrometers I have ever had and their satin-chrome finish is the most durable, rust - proof finish aside from stainless steel (Which Starret also provides in their 1230 and 1212 1" & 2" micrometers). And the T 226 XRL-4 is a four-inch micrometer with "all the bells and whistles", graduated in tenth-thousandths (T), carbide-faced anvil&spindle (X), ratchet on thimble (R) and that faithful lock-ring (R) that has been around for well over a hundred years, still doing its job.
