    Great set - unique record of artistic genius

    Great set - got it because it's complete, and I'm professionally interested in the scenes of Ginger & Fred dancing together, the period performances of songs from the Great American Songbook, and the Art Deco settings and clothes. Warner Bros are to be congratulated for providing all the films as a set. The standard of the remastering is variable, and Warner Bros presumably did the best they could with the material they had, and that apparently excludes remastering to BluRay standards. Nonetheless, the films as a whole are very watchable, the artistic parts of interest to me are superb, and the black and white technology of the time is amazing. The set is 5 star because it's unique, represents a happy confluence of various strands of artistic genius at that time, and we won't be seeing ...

    A classy package to honor a classy dancing duo.

    The complete Astaire-Rogers movies in a handsome, sturdy box and art deco lettering to enhance a classy package. It's all Astaire and Rodgers, though, so if you want, say, "Royal Wedding" so you can see Fred walk across the ceiling, it's a separate purchase. The films are top-quality remasters. Although Astaire once identified Jane Powell as his favorite dancing partner, the magic and mastery of the Astaire-Rogers team is always graceful and beautiful, with a magic all its own on display in each and every film.
