The seller did just that by adding an edge the the steel blade & even adding a special three piece scabbard. The craftsmanship was really well done, even with the leather work such as the handles & the scabbards. The price was more reasonable than I've seen for most items such as this. This is truly a work of art & a dedinite must have for any Star Trek fan. Live long & prosper
