The Boss DS-2 is a distortion pedal designed to drive your guitar into a turbo overdrive. Featuring two modes, this Boss guitar effect pedal delivers sounds from warm and mellow to biting distortion apt for solo riffs. For handsfree switching between the two modes, this distortion guitar effect pedal houses a remote jack that facilitates the attachment of an external footswitch. This Boss guitar effect pedal features three other knobs that bestow you with total tone tweaking independence. Encased in an all-metal casing, this distortion guitar effect pedal is sturdy.     Excellent tone, price, and build quality

    Killer distortion. It is my favorite distortion pedal out of several I've tried. The tone knob in particular does a great job of darkening or brightening your tone in a useful way. Some tone knobs only have one sweet spot... not this one. There is also plenty of gain on tap, and furthermore, turning the gain down gives a really sweet overdrive tone. My only complaint is that, in my opinion, the mode II is pretty lame. It boosts the mids and cuts the highs a little too much, resulting in a tone closer to a fixed wah than, say, a mid-boosted tube screamer. Also, the overall volume jumps rather noticeably when switching from mode I to II. However, given the price, build quality, and sound of mode I, the pedal easily deserves 5 stars.

    Great pedal

    Awesome sound from the pedal, the main thing you want to watch out for when using it is the natural hum of the pedal. As soon as you finish playing it, turn it off to disable the noise.

    Makes me wonder why they still make the ds-1

    You can get so much out of this pedal. From a crunchy drive all the way to a saturated distortion and then with the mid boost on the turbo setting its golden. Get one
