    This is a good high capacity router.

    It is great for alternate firmware like OpenWRT since the chips do not require proprietary firmware. Lots of flash, RAM and CPU power make VPN, web server or other apps supportable within the router. However one must open the case and use a serial port adapter the first time non-Linksys FW is installed.

    Excellent hardware - Mobile App not secure

    Hardware is excellent, signal level is very high and de application is very easy and useful. But when you are login to the App it sends the User I'd and password in plain text, https is not used. This is a huge security breach.

    a great router

    This linksys ea8500 router is better than I expected. The internet speed to my computer more than tripled (21 mbs to 71 mbs) from my old linksys router ea6500. It had been a few years since I had installed a new router and it took me a while. I was not sure where the wps button was and the directions were not as clear as I needed. But I found my way after a couple of hours. A more experienced computer person probably would do it in 10 minutes. I am impressed with this router especially since I did not expect this large improvement in performance/speed. It is a keeper.

    This is a great router

    I recently needed to replace my old router so I consulted consumer reports and this model was rated very high. It was more than I wanted to spend but I wanted good, solid wifi all over my 2 story house so I bought it anyway. It was very easy to set up, and I now have two networks in my house. The 2.4 ghz network and the 5 ghz one. So far both networks are fast and reliable. I am very happy with this router.

    LINKSYS EA8500

    Awesome piece of technology would definitely recommend this to family and friends, arrived sooner than I thought. I'm extremely happy that I choose this unit over net gear. I've also purchased the range extenders so I can have connections even from my back yard. Working great and fastest internet speeds so far.
