I used this on a Renault Clio which had very badly oxidised headlight lenses. They were so bad that the lights weren't at all helpful. I used this product, following the clear and easy to follow instructions and the result was just terrific. The headlight lenses ended up like new, sparkling and clear again. Great result and I can strongly recommend the use of this product.

My 2010 Toyota Prado cops the sun all day on Sydney's Northern Beaches and the headlights had gone almost totally opaque, with very little light getting through making driving dangerous at night. It only made it through pink slip for rego on the proviso I fixed them so did lots of research and decided on 3M after reading tons of reviews. Bought this kit over the other 3M ones which actually contain more items, as this version has an attachment for your drill which makes the job so much easier than having to sand by hand. Word of caution, after reading of some reviewers who had scratched the paint around their headlights, I cut up some plastic milk containers into strips and slid them under the headlamp surrounds before masking off. SUGGEST YOU DO THIS TOO!! After masking I just followed the instructions and like magic my headlights went from opaque yellow to crystal clear as new. Made my 2010 Toyota Prado look sooooo much better, huge difference in asthetics plus now safer too. I also bought some Mothers UV sealant to keep them looking good for at least a year. Highly recommend this product to anyone who needs to do this job. Read full review

I recently acquired a 12 year old car and the headlights were worse for wear. I looked online for solutions and found a few do-it yourself guides. These sort of worked but didn't get anywhere near looking like new. A friend recommended the 3M kit and I purchased one. My only problem was that it recommended using an 1200-1800 rpm drill which is probably what US drills are running off 110 V. When I looked at my Australian drill it is 2100 - 2300 rpm running off 240 V. I used it anyway since I thought my friend would have had a drill similar to mine. Unfortunately using the supplied grit paper with the drill left scratches (especially around a ridge section of the headlights) that didn't come out with the polishing stages. Fortunately they came out going over it by hand with 400 and 800 grit paper (with lots of water) and then going over them again with the polishing (grey disk) and buffing (foam disk with polishing compound). So if I was doing the job again or recommending to anyone else, I would say do the sanding steps by hand first and then doing the polishing steps with the supplied polishing disks. These are where the value in this kit is. You can do the coarse sanding steps easily (and possibly more safely) by hand but you are not likely to have the patience to do the fine polishing steps by hand and they can be done with the supplied 3M disks on your drill, especially if you are in Australia with a 240 V 2000+ rpm drill.Read full review

I bought this item and used it as directed. I was disappointed with the results. I used it several times and gave up. I ended up buying both new headlights for my car. Don’t expect after using the product that the end result is the same as brand new lights. Not recommended.

Great quality & it worked terrific! The only thing that could be better is the finishing polish is in a satchel, If it was put in a small bottle instead there is easy enough product in these kits too do another set of headlights another time.
