It comes with a pair of resistors which are necessary because a direct connect to a 1000-2000 volt source would likely blow it to bits. If you substitute a suitable potentiometer for one of the reistors you could use a known voltage source to calibrate this to be dead-on.

It was sent priority mail but USPS messed up and it looks like the box was stuck in a machine. Good thing the seller packed the tubes well! The tubes appear to be unused unlike another reviewer said. I don’t have a tester to find out but they look new.
