    Keith the carpenter

It's great for light duty work but made from plastic I think after fitting pvc cladding in caravan it will be of no use. Doesn't push pins flush into solid wood but a punch and hammer finishes the job but pusher makes it so much easier to start nailing off with out hammering your fingers. Would recommend one in your tool box. Hope that helps

  • Top critical review

    Ok tool but limited usefulness

It was “ok” Bought to assemble bee hive frames which are softwood small section profile wood. Consequently doing this would be a bit fiddly with a hammer and your fingers/thumb. This tool was able to position the nails but pretty useless for pushing them in for any distance. So i used it to place the nail and just about stand in the wood and then used a small hammer to drive nail home. So what i’d call “semi useful”. Saved bruising my fingers and thumbs at least. Whether larger gauge nails or ones with bigger heads would be better i’d know..

  • Read this! you will be glad you did.

So glad Draper are selling this, I used to use one when I was a kitchen fitter, however I have been 30 years trying to find one let alone explain to the DIY/tool Trade what this tool is as it was always refered to as a Brad Driver or Push Pin.When I found this I felt like I struck gold. What I recieved was high quality at an excellent price. Deliverd not on time as to say but much faster than I expected. I always used to say to colleages " you can always rely on Draper". Any one reading this, trust me, this is a genuine review. Excellent quality tool from an excellent reliant brand.

  • Poor quality. Needs improvement

I was hoping for a good quality item as it had Draper's name but was sadly disappointed. The tool was incapable of driving 20mm veneer pins through 5mm plywood into pine. The plastic sleeve which slides back out of the way now has crushed edges and a 'burst out' section where the pin has come out of the side. The only good thing about it is that it can drive the pins through the 5mm plywood and then I finish driving them with a hammer which saves one hitting one's fingers with the hammer. I would not recommend this item but would look for a better made one with possibly a brass sleeve, ie an old 2nd hand one

  • good for large headed pins not so good for smaller headed pins

works really well for large headed pins in soft woods , but as the pusher has a plastic tube pins with smaller heads can slide up between the piston head and the cylinder tube
