This tire does the job well on hard pavement. Makes the ride a lot easier and smoother. It does well off trail as well as long as you don't go looking for super steep trails with rocks. Just take these tires to the tamer trails and you will do just fine. I have not tried these in rain or snow conditions yet as it is still summer. The sidewalls are not as tall as MTB tires and really have not noticed any handling issues. All in all, a lighter weight tire for mountain bikers that prefer asphalt with the occasional trespass onto light dirt trails. Might save you a few watts as you are not pedaling 26 x 2.20 or larger MTB tires made for rocky, muddy or wet trials.

There seems to be a couple different tread patterns. The one I received has a more rectangular pattern than the one in the photo. Still though, the tires ride quite nicely, and are a big improvement over a mountain tread when riding on pavement, while having plenty of grab on the trail. I have had good luck with Continentals on our road bikes, so I thought I'd give the Traffic tires a try on my mountain bike. I like the Traffic enough that I will probably buy a set for my wife's mountain bike also.
