I'm always skeptical about tuners that are inexpensive, but these really shine among inexpensive tuners. They lock the strings really well, and the 18:1 tuning ratio makes it easy to get the strings in tune. They hold the tuning well, too. I'll definitely be getting another few sets of these as I mod and build guitars.

These tuning keys will work on the unwound strings with a couple of wraps like a normal tuning key but don't really lock. The tuning ratio can't be 18 to one and have considerable slop. A sperzel set has a piston with a hole for the string to actually cinch the string these keys have a piston that pinches the string and the skinny ones just slip off. Anyone who has had good locking tuners won't be happy with these . You do get what you pay for I'm already looking to change them out

I threw these things on a $50 eBay guitar, with no mods yet, and I was able to dive bomb the bridge at least 7-8 times before it went out of tune!! They’re also beautiful tuners, black screws, black tuners, black tulip heads, they are just beautiful! Would definitely reccomend

I figured I'd try these out on the merit of all the five star reviews on here. I don't know if I just got a bad batch, but man these are awful... among the worst tuners I've ever used. The action is incredibly rough, and they're janky as all get out. They would not even retain the unwound strings even when tightened to the fullest extent. I'm going to eat the loss and buy some Jin Hos or Grovers. Spend the extra $30 and get something that'll work properly.

I had to return this product for a refund, because it was poorly made - most of the threaded bushings would not secure the tuners tightly to the headstock - and wouldn't even lock the 3rd, 2nd, and 1st strings (D'Addario .016, .0115, and .0095) properly - the strings just kept sliding off the tuner string holes, even though I tightened the locking tuners as hard as I could! Maybe I got a bad set, but I'm not willing to try again. I should have paid attention to the bad reviews...
