Very well designed protractor. There are different protractors designed by different engineers... But I wanted to thy this one mostly because mirror surface and great reviews. On my Aiwa DD turntable with J-shaped arm it did great job. Lines are well visible. Not sure why A and B points have tiny circles instead the crosshair lines... probably to make it more universal, with some room to play... But it did great job, cartridge (Clearaudio Concept V2) sound wonderful, no sibilance, no Inner Groove Distortion (IGD), soundstage and timing is solid and precise. It means it's a great protractor.

The mirror on the protractor is a great feature, but that's as far as it went for me. Unfortunately the white grid-lines were too "heavy" and were obscured by color against the silver mirror making it difficult for me to locate the cartridge edge and read accurately. I would suggest crisp black color lines for sharp contrast. I ended up using a paper stylus I printed off an internet site.

Well there's alot of alignment tools amd advice out there. Confused?!...... I was, until I bought this. Use your phones torch to help get that needle on the bullseye and it's super easy from there. I used it on a Pioneer TT and a Rotel TT. Worked quickly and without any issues. If you are unsure on the whole setting up a cartridge and you just want a simple and quick method, this is it. Glad I got one....

Whether you're just getting started with vinyl or you're a veteran, this is an absolute must have for your arsenal of accessories. To get the most out of any stylus/cartridge, it must be as close to perfect alignment with the grooves as possible. This tool gets it there. You cannot simply bolt up a cartridge to a headshell and run with it. Alignment is critical for optimal performance and sound playback quality. Do yourself a huge favor and get one of these. Just put on your delicate and slightly tedious mojo for a few minutes and you will be pleasently surprised with your efforts.

This gauge is well-designed and easy to use. If you want the best sound from your turntable, you need to have it set up right. (There are plenty of on-line tutorials to walk you through the process). One caveat: your table must have the necessary adjustment features, otherwise this gauge won't be useful.
