When you chose a filter, you chose it for a variety of reasons. One big reason is quality of construction, and a variety of other reasons you shouldn't even have to ask about. Of course it's plano parallel glass, and of course it's coated. The brass used in the ring is stout. It's a tough filter, and not like many of those cheap aluminum things that distort as you try to screw them onto the end of your lens. When you have a Nikkor lens, spend a few more dollars and buy a Nikon brand filter.
