In Sept 2002 and Oct 2003, MGM Home Entertainment officially released "THE OUTER LIMITS" on DVD, but unfortunately they made them on these Cheap and vulnerable MultiDisc formats, which contained visual flaws while on playback. the so-called "customer service" from MGM/Fox was also of no help, and for the decade, this was all that MGM chose to do with the 1963-1965 TV series, and in a nutshell, it was insulting and unacceptable! even the re-releasing of the complete series in 2008 still showed these damned Multi Disc sets, and that was the final straw! but there was a stroing light at the end of this dreary tunnel, and Shock Video did the unthinkable-they made the 49 produced episodes availible onto better made DVD discs, and the cover packaging was also incredible because they used the actual series logo intact, instead of MGM's inferior and extremely BAD visual ideas and the artsy fartsy stuff that they punished fans of the original series with! the video quality of the episodes is also extremely great, so in general, Shock Video did a damn good job with "THE OUTER LIMITS", way better than what MGM Home Video did, and i'd reccomend their version to really serious fans of the ABC series, who had a right to expect way more then these extremely inferior versions from 2002-2008. of recent reports, Kino Lorber is expected to re-release "THE OUTER LIMITS" onto BluRay format sometime this current year, and that has yet to be seen, but for the time being, the Shock Video release of "THE OUTER LIMITS" remains a superior and better version, which i would highly reccomend!Read full review

The set comes with three keep cases which have added center hinges so everything stays in place and nothing is rubbed. The discs are in NTSC format and are Region Free despite what the outside packaging says. Very good image quality. No extras or printed menu guide, but all the episodes are there in high quality in a durable package. And no double-sided discs!

This series was highly influenced by Rod Serling's Twilight Zone, but with more focus on Science Fiction than Supernatural and alternate realities, Outer Limits began 4 years after Twilight Zone (and in my opinion, both shows were very clever and had stories in the realm of classic pulp science fiction comics) The Outer Limits Box set is a nice looking package of 14 single sided discs with cool SF packaging and the complete series of 49 (45 min episodes) a great collection for fans of Anthologies and old fashion Science Fiction Monsters

This excellent complete box set of the original 1960's Outer Limits is stylishly designed, yet to the point. The menus are simple to navigate and each episode is chapter encoded for ease of search. After doing some checking, it appears that this particular set from Australia is THE set to own concerning the original classic Outer Limits and beats all others in terms of picture and sound quality. And last, but not least by far, the DVDs do INDEED play in an American DVD player regardless of the designation of "Region 4" on the back of the box. A great deal.

I was a little concerned when I received this item. Although it is advertised as a region 1 DVD set, on the boxed product it says region 4. However, I was relieved to find that the DVD plays perfectly in my region 1 DVD player. I loved the original Outer Limits series when I was a kid. I still love them just as much today. The price is very reasonable. Great product. Extremely satisfied.
