      Squire Weathershield padlock

      Just the job for a small lock up box to stop youngsters gaining access to dangerous items. The four gate system gives 10 000 combinations, just have to remember which number without writing it down. Easy to use and set so changing the code is simple if needed.

      Stopped working after 4 days

      The combination number was set and written down (just in case). After 4 days of working, we as a family were unable to open the padlock. The numbers were evenly matched, but the bottom button at the base of the padlock would not press in. Variations of the number were tried above and below the set number - no luck. In the end took an angle grinder to it. Spent time looking online prior and found 2 videos on YouTube demonstrating how easy it was to open a squire combination padlock, working out the tension as you scrolled through the numbers. Not as secure as I was led to believe. I will probably go back to using a good old fashioned key padlock.

      The Only Lock You'll Need

      A good quality Squire branded lock with a good guarantee. The 40mm size lock is in use securing a gate. The lock is easy to use, with clear instructions. The combination wheels are clear and it's reprogrammable if you ever need to change the combination, not the lock! Good value.

      squire is quality , used them for many yrs and when i was looking for a padlock when my son followed my footsteps in to the army and he needed a padlock for his locker i knew it was a brand i could trust,btw there is not a yale padlock i can not pick
