Very underrated lens
I’m finding I’m using this lens a lot more than I thought I would. It has excellent colour with minimal distortion. It’s well matched to my D810 and a good partner to my 85mm f1.8 Nikkor

This is a good lens to use and value for the money.
It is light in the hand and small in your camera bag or Nikon D4,D3 or D700, D800. The Nikon 28mm f1.8g has nano crystal coating and gold ring making it a high end lens. Unlike it's cousins the 24mm f1.4g and 35mm f1.4g that are big and heavy in weight and in price, this one is light, small and light in price new or second hand. Over $600 or less depending where you buy it. This Nikon lens is good taking landscape, places and portrait shots (from head to foot or couple shots). The lens does have two aspherical glass, Aperture is from f1.8 to f16. It has a filter size of 67mm and the focus is smooth when moving it with your hand weather in manual or AF. If you cannot afford buy the bigger and more expensive lens of it's big cousins, you may want to check the 28mm f1.8g. It will go well ...
