    This cable offers better options

    This is like the cable that came with my tomtom XL when I bought it. The difference is this cable has a full sized usb jack at one end while the original had a dassboard-lighter-socket jack on it. I used another (non-tomtom) cable when the old one wore out. The jack on the non-tomtom cable was easier to insert into and remove from the tomtom. But this new cable is designed to mount flush with the device which allows a wider range of positions when using the window mount on my dashboard. The other (non-tomtom) cable made it easier to transport the device because it was easier to take out and insert. But this new cable has a full sized usb jack on the other end. So I just leave it in when I move the tomtom from one car to the other or bring it in the house.

    Seems ok but ...

    Not sure how good this is or if actually a TomTOm data cable as I could not update with this cable because the computer was unable to locate the gps device. The website said to be sure to have an original tomtom cable to download. Maybe i have a different problem, I don't know. The cable charges the gps and my gps sees my computer as it did with the wrong cable that i had and tried to use before i bought this one. Maybe just time for a new gps!

    Worked perfectly for downloads to replace lost cable for TomTom XXL

    I've had the TomTom XXL for quite a while but we recently lost/misplaced the USB cable, which meant I could do updates anymore. I tried a bunch of other micro USB to USB cables, but none of them fit. The opening around the connector really only fits with the original cable. So anyway, I found this one, and took a chance, but it indeed works fine with my XXL!
