This model is no longer current and is by far superior to the new model that has replaced it. This HX-6950 has a rubberized grip but the new model does not and is as slippery as a watermelon seed and much more stall prone with little pressure. Also the new model has 2 buttons that are easy to push accidentally when trying to grip it. The HX6950 has more power and cleans better than the new model with their pressure limit feature. The new model will rather easily stall. Apparently they think we don't know how to properly brush our teeth. I will replace my present HX6950 with a new battery (fairly easy to do) as often as needed for many more years. After overnight charging this HX6950 the battery is good as new. It was made a few years ago and was totally dead but took a good charge. The UV charger base is fairly bulky and of no use to me. I use the small travel base. Overall the new model is a BAD design, just check the reviews online.Read full review

I bought this toothbrush to replace the one I have. It is no where in the ball park of the same product. It looks the same and has the same part number on it but doesn't even come close to the original. It cleans about as good as the $10 one from walmart. Not sure if it is a bootleg copy or what. Bottom line "Save your money"

This is my second Sonicare toothbrush. The first lasted several years but finally bit the dust. This is a newer model than my first. My dentist recommends Sonicare and even sells them at a good price. My dental hygienist says she could definitely tell a difference when I went from a manual toothbrush to Sonicare. No cavities and no gum disease in years!

This was an exact replacement handle for my Sonicare system. My old handle would no longer hold a charge and was out of warranty. I could not obtain a replacement handle from Philips as they only sell new complete systems. I was happy to find this handle so I did not have to buy a whole new system. It works great! One piece of advice that I got from the Philips rep when I called about my old handle: I used to keep my handle on the charger all the time. The rep said it is best to not always charge the handle. They recommend to fully charge overnight only after the battery is low ("one bar" indicator light). By cycling the battery this way it should provide good battery life.

This replaces the same unit bought and used daily for over five years. This has been a good value for me since my dental bills have been a fraction of what they used to be before I switched to the Philips Sonicare. I replace the Sonicare brush heads every six weeks instead of the 3 month rated life stated on the brush package.
