This Neutrik plug is a must.
A way to annoy most everyone in ear shot is to have your instrument cable not be terminated with the amp gain up, and the resulting overwhelming hum when the tip of the plug makes contact with a non grounded source. The audio chain does not like this either. This plug helps to insure that possibility not happening. I can change basses without having to mute the amp or changing amp settings. All of my instrument cables have these plugs on the instrument end of the cable. These 1/4 inch two conductor plugs are well engineered. The covers are all metal. The plugs have a very good strain relief. I don't know how I got along without this for so long. OK......I could live without it from now on, but man do I like not having all that noise when changing guitars. I wish it could have a lower profile though. It stands out from the guitar body and kinda gets in the way when you put the guitar on a stand, but that's not a big deal. I really like the feel of this connector....it is heavy-duty quality through and through. I'm gonna buy another one of these.I don't know how I got along without this for so long. Worked for about 3 weeks.
I used this plug at church so I could unplug my guitar and not have to worry about someone tripping over the cord. It worked for 3 weeks, or about 15-20 times. Now, my cord still works, but the plug pops just like any other plug. Wasted my time and money. I guess I'll try another brand.
