Bei der Western Digital Caviar Blue 250 GB, Intern, 7200 RPM (WD2500AAKX) handelt es sich um eine 3,5 Zoll große SATA Festplatte. Die Western Digital Festplatte misst 26,1x147x101,6 mm und wiegt 690 g. Durch eine 6 Gb/s unfassende SATA-Schnittstelle, 7200 RPM und einem Cache von 32 MB wird ein kühler und leiser Betrieb bei einer soliden Leistung erreicht. Durch die WhisperDrive-Technologie werden die Geräusche der Festplatte auf ein Minimum reduziert, das für das menschliche Ohr kaum hörbar ist. Weiterhin ist die Western Digital Festplatte mit der SoftSeek-Technologie ausgestattet, welche die Geräusche bei Suchvorgängen verringert und die Suchalgorithmen bei Schreib- und Leseoperationen verbessert. Die Western Digital WD2500AAKX eignet sich dadurch ideal für private sowie auch für beruflich genutzte Computer. Die 250 GB Speicherplatz der SATA Festplatte bieten dabei beispielsweise Platz für wichtige Dokumente, Fotos, Musik und sonstige Daten. Hier sorgt der Data Lifeguard dafür, dass diese Daten auf der Festplatte vor Fehlern oder sonstigen schädlichen Einflüssen optimal geschützt sind und bietet außerdem eine Fehlererkennung und -behebung in Echtzeit. Die ShockGuard-Technologie schützt die Western Digital WD2500AAKX vor Erschütterungen und Stößen während des Betriebs und macht die Western Digital Festplatte damit zu einem der führenden Laufwerke in Sachen Stoß- und Erschütterungsfestigkeit. Die Festplatte ist mit allen gängigen Betriebssystemen (bis inkl. Windows 7) kompatibel.
