    Works great, simple and easy to use

    Please note that this tool is specific to GM cars to the best of my knowledge. It made it very easy to remove my existing power socket as well as removing one from a salvage vehicle to find a replacement trim ring for my car which was really the main reason I purchased it.

    It works after removing some burrs with a file.

    The tool works ( I couldn’t remove the old auxiliary 12v power socket without it). I had to remove some burrs off the edge of the tool to get it to go inside the two square holes though. The lighter socket is a direct replacement for my 2004 Chevy Silverado lighter socket

    Handy!

    One of those tools you might not use often, but it doesn't take up much space in your toolbox. Don't know why people break those covers off for their power receptacles on purpose. Maybe they should just dittle themselves while they drive instead?

    Dorman 56457-Lighter Socket works great

    Followed instructions on package. Had a somewhat difficult time removing the old socket but managed to get it out without breaking the plastic molding of the console. Very simple to hookup and install new Socket. Appears to be nearly identical to the original equipment socket. Solved the problem. Very satisfied with this new Socket and the removal tool was great. Couldn't have removed the old one without the tool.
