    Terrific movie

I am very glad I purchased this movie as it deals with a Christians character. Very entertaining & thought provoking. I enjoyed it so much that I also purchased one for my son who is married with children & deals with the public. I highly recommend this movie & I hope the makers of this movie make more of them.

  • Flywheel

Jay Austin wants to sell you a car, and it doesn't matter to him how he does it. He is dishonest in his business, and that's exactly how he conducts his personal life as well. He is dishonest in all of his relationships even his wife and son know they can't trust him. However, as Jay works on restoring a classic 1958 Triumph TR3A convertible, he comes face-to-face with the reality that his life is spinning out of control because of the choices he has made and the way he has conducted himself in his business and in his relationships. He resolves to give his life and his business over to God and make God the "Boss," and begins the ride of his life. Alex Kendrick's convincing, no-nonsense performance as an amoral businessmen and the picture's spartan straightforward approach, with a modicum ...

  • A small budget movie with a big story to tell

Flywheel is of the same quality as the other 2 movies made by the Sherwood Baptist Church in Georgia, the recent Fireproof and Facing the Giants. The cost of production was only $20,000 so the lighting and sound isn't of the quality we expect from Hollywood but the story content easily makes up for it. The story of a young, used car salesman who is more intent on making an easy, sometimes exhorbitant, profit on the sale of a car than nurturing his relationship with his son and wife. But through a series of events he is put to the test when he makes a tough decision to run his business in a manner pleasing to the Lord. The events that take place may seem far fetched to those not in a close relationship with God but for those of us who have "been there" it was wonderful to ...

  • Flywheel

The movie was a great first effort by brothers Alex and Stephen Kendrick. Just to get it out of the way I'll first say what I disliked about the movie. It was fairly slow moving and the major character's wife was not directed well enough to not appear like a petulant, scolding mother more than what she was, a disenfranchised and unappreciated wife whose godly voice and reasonable opinions were cast aside like unredeemable waste. What I liked about the movie is its character and call for integrity among Christians - all Christians - although this plot was primarily about a Christian businessman sliding down a slippery slope of compromise and greed. His outer behaviors and ethics reflected what was going on inside his spirit and revealed gross distrust in the Lord to provide for his every ...

  • Flywheel is a good low-budget movie...

This is the first movie produced by Sherwood Pictures, which is a ministry of Sherwood church in Albany, GA. It is a story of a used car salesman who takes advantage of people by lying about the condition of used vehicles and over-charging customers. Faced with bankruptcy and the repercussions of his less-than-honest business practices, Jay Austin has no choice but to turn his business over to God and right the wrongs of his past. This story is engaging and filled woth inspiration, even though it was produced for about $20,000 with a handful of volunteers. After seeing Facing the Giants this was an easy choice for me. I'm excited to see what the end result will be when Sherwood Pictures releases Fireproof, their next movie, as they will have a bigger budget to work with. -Brian
