Z is for Zamboni, by Matt Napier
Very cute little book, but unfortunately, very poorly written. Generally, alphabet books such as this one employ techniques that make the content easier for developing minds to digest, including elements of rhyme and rhythm. While there are a few instances of repeating sounds, (for example - T is for tripping - using a stick to cause a stumble) there is very little else that would make this book a quality learning tool. At the time of this writing, my daughter is less than two months old, so I will have plenty of time to rewrite it to provide her with content that will benefit her. If you have absolutely no creative ability whatsoever, and are only going to buy one alphabet book for your kid, this is NOT an appropriate choice. However, if you love hockey like I do, and can buy it cheap ... Very cute little book, but unfortunately, very poorly written. Z is for Zamboni
We bought this book because my son likes Zambonis and hockey. Z is for Zamboni takes you through the alphabet using hockey references for everything but Z, which of course is for Zamboni. My three year old loves this book. He has most of the pages memorized so he "appears" to be reading it. My only complaint is that it used the Zamboni once. It would have been nice to have seen the diferent parts of the Zamboni used as well; B is for Brush... W is for Water Tank... etc.We bought this book because my son likes Zambonis and hockey. Z is for Zamboni takes you through the alphabet using hockey references for everything but Z, which of course is for Zamboni. My three year old loves this book. Best baby hockey book!
My daughter loved this book when little. She played on the 2011 National Champion HoneyBaked 16U team this year, and when a former coach recently had his first child, she said we have to get Z Is For Zamboni for them.
