A Reasonable Starting Point For My Fictional Subject Matter
I bought this kit with the sole purpose of turning it into the fictional USS Nathan James from the TNT series "The Last Ship". The USS Momsen is of the same sub class as the USS Halsey, which is the actual naval destroyer used for the filming of the series for the exterior shots. As naval ships are not all identical even in the same class and subsequent upgrades, I will do some research to see what I have to modify to get as accurate as possible to the Halsey. I will at some point prior to building it obtain the PE brass upgrade set to enhance the detail. Good detail and fitment, not for beginners but not impossibly hard.
The algled hours sides have caused difficulty mettioned in other reviews buth that can be overcome by thoightfull assembly order. The aft CWIS from flight I has has been added in retrofits, some of the parts (the actual R2D2 & Gun) are in the sprews in this moddel but the lower step from the aft uptake neesds to be scratch built.
