About this product

Product Information

The ability to enjoy high-quality sound in your home or office is now available with the Onkyo TX-8211 2 Channel 50-Watt Stereo Receiver. Ensuring maximum sound quality at all times is the key to Onkyo’s products and the TX-8211 model does not disappoint. The Onkyo Corporation started under the brand name of Osaka Denki Onkyo K.K in 1946 in Japan. The word Onkyo translates from Japanese to English as “sound harmony.” The Onkyo Corporation is a Japanese luxury consumer electronics manufacturer specializing in premium home cinema and audio equipment. Most notable are Onkyo’s receivers, surround sound speakers and other portable devices. When the Onkyo TX-8211 2 Channel 50-Watt Stereo Receiver was released, it was at the height of technology with advanced features not found in other receivers. The Onkyo TX-8211 2 Channel 50-Watt Stereo Receiver features a sleep timer, cassette tape monitoring, stage circuits, high-quality filter capacitors, and a low-impedance amplifier. Rounding out the features of this stereo receiver is that when added to your home theater sound system you can enjoy 4 audio inputs to connect a tuner or other devices, A/B speaker switching, 30 AM/FM radio presets, and a preset scan. The sleep timer is great on the Onkyo TX-8211 2 Channel 50-Watt Stereo Receiver because you can set it to turn off after you have fallen asleep or you can wake to your own preset, personalized music in the morning. The cassette tape monitoring is perfect for monitoring the playback or recording from any cassette decks you connect to this receiver. On the Onkyo TX-8211 2 Channel 50-Watt Stereo Receiver there are stage circuits, a type designed to prevent the sound from becoming distorted at high temperatures. There are also high-quality filter capacitors and a low-impedance amplifier to ensure maximum sound quality through this receiver at all times. Adding the Onkyo TX-8211 2 Channel 50-Watt Stereo Receiver is ideal because of the 4 audio inputs allowing you to connect DVD players, CD players, game consoles, HDTV tuners, and any other tuner or devices you have in your home theater system setup. With A/B speaker switching it makes it possible to have primary speakers (A), such as ones that might pair for television or video and (B), speakers that can be used to play audio in another room, entertain a patio area or even play music throughout a backyard. The 30 AM/FM radio presets comes in handy so that you can set all your radio stations and never have to search for a station again, while the preset scan will automatically scan all those stations until you find your favorite one with the included remote control. Many reviewers love this receiver model because it has all the basics of a great receiver with some added features not found in other receivers. The Onkyo TX-8211 Receiver unit produces rich stereo sound with low distortion and has a maximum output of 50 watts per channel. A versatile receiver that comes with a wide range of supporting features, high-quality coupled with ease of use, make this an easy choice to purchase for you or as the ultimate gift for the audiophile in your life.

"Great sound and the price is right!"

The Onkyo TX-8211 Stereo Receiver is turning out to be a very pleasant surprise for me. I was looking for a Receiver that would power my Bose 203 series lll book shelf speakers and a pair of active Sony Sub-woofers to be driven through the B speaker connects. I set up my configuration very quickly and was playing a cd through the system within a few minutes. Sound quality was all I had hoped for. I then tried my Audio Technica Turn table through the system and again the quality of the application was revealed. I finally played a dvd through the system and was pleased with the sound coming from one of my fave movies. If you are looking for a 2 channel receiver that will deliver the goods, provide fine stereo separation, and be cost effective at the same time then I highly recommend the ...

    a so so device

It's a tolerably good amp, and everything works. It just doesn't work that well. Receiver sensitivity is no good. I tried to pick up local stations that my back porch boom-box, and home theater pick up flawlessly, and they are staticy, and broken using the same antennas. It also should have been mentioned that the missing remote was a wired remote, and not replaceable with a universal remote.

  • A Fine Receiver for the den/bedroom

Features I like about this receiver is it has a decent tuner, clean output, can drive low impedance, low efficiency (book shelf mainly) speakers well. Remote is laid out well but has small buttons. Would be nice if it had a subwoofer pre-out. This is a commonly forgotten feature left off of Stereo receivers. It should be a standard feature on any major brand receiver. Also, another tape loop and/or 1 or 2 more inputs! Well recorded Classic Jazz is reproduced very well when using a quality bookshelf speaker... It presents a nice soundstage and very good detail.. But remember, you won't get these benefits using Low-Fi speakers.. This unit competes well against the Denon DRA295 and older Denon 40-50 wpc units as well as the Yamaha RX340/50/60 watter series.

  • Worth evey penny

As stated, this receiver is great for a den, bedroom or garage. Possibly one of the better receivers that offer a no-frills/yet a quality build. A solid unit that can be bought very cheap on ebay. I would say an A1 value. This is my second one and I am running cambridge soundworks model six speakers. The sound is unreal for a package this size. With shipping I have about 176.00 in this system. This setup will kick other setups costing 4 times as much. Add a sub (M&K mx-90) and its unreal!!! I plan on bidding on a few more for some friends. :)

  • Great Onkyo receivers.

The Onkyo tx-8211 is a great sounding stereo receiver and like other reviewers stated it sounds best when used with good shelf speakers. This receiver sounds awesome also when you hook up an equallizer to it.One of the features that i really like on this receiver is that you can program it so that it will turn off by itself, this really comes in handy at night when you want to fall asleep listening to music. I personally own three of these receivers and recommend them highly but my favorite Onkyo stereo receiver is the tx-8011, this receiver really has a crystal clear sound and is also a 100 watt receiver like the tx-8211. It is really great that you can still purchase these discontinued receivers on Ebay and if you wait around sometimes you can get one of these receivers brand new. For ...
