Product Information

The second in the "island" trilogy, SON OF GODZILLA opens with a group of scientists on a deserted island performing weather experiments; they soon discover that nuclear activity has mutated insects on the island into huge preying mantises. They courageously continue with their experiment until a horrible accident cause a radioactive storm, mutating the insects further, uncovering a giant egg, and summoning Godzilla. The egg hatches into a young monster that Godzilla takes under his wing, training it in the ways of proper monsterhood while battling the giant insects. Akira Kubo stars as an intrepid journalist who comes to the island in search of a story.

two godzillas are better than one
You either like the Godzilla series or not . The movies, after the first few have a different feel to them, more geared for a young audience I suppose. Some of them are better than others , Son of Godzilla probably falls under the "others" category, but nevertheless is an entertaining movie and a Godzilla movie collection isn't complete without it. There is overacting ,emotional monsters, improbable situations , everything you expect from the series . Then there is the soundtrack....interesting.You either like the Godzilla series or not . great movies! no ghandi, but who watched that more than once... perhaps you have to be a certain age(over 60 under 6) to appreciate them. ah , the days of practical special efx!! if approached in the proper creature feature frame of mind (and a full bowl of popcorn) a fun time at the home movie theater. imho, best watched in original japanese, but a nice nostalgia/wacky feeling viewed in englishgreat movies! no ghandi, but who watched that more than once... perhaps you have to be a certain age(over 60 under 6) to appreciate them. ah , the days of practical special efx!! if approached in the proper creature feature frame of mind (and a full bowl of popcorn) a fun time at the home movie theater. imho, best watched in original japanese, but a nice nostalgia/wacky feeling viewed in english

I Cannot Stress How Much Godzilla Fans Will HATE THIS
Whoever decided to make this film, along with Godzilla's Revenge, clearly needs to get a job at Euro-Disney; because they're cuddly, loveable versions of The King of Monsters is definitely a joke, at best. Much like Godzilla's Revenge, we are forced to put up with a childlike plot and characterization of Godzilla and of course, his stupid child. The son of Godzilla is lame and lame looking. Where is the mass destruction of Tokyo? Where are the raging battles between monsters? Where are the tanks and jet planes? NOWHERE! This is a subplot movie that takes the rampaging monster and turns him into Mickey Mouse; it's more like a comedy than a monster movie...especially the likes of Godzilla. This movie would only entertain children under 6, if it's lucky. No Godzilla ...
