The Best of Stone Fury has five or six outstanding tracks, and it is likely you will only remember one of two of them. My personal favorite is "Life is too lonely" which I remember hearing from a friends radio in 1985. Other tracks you may recall are - Shannon You Lose, Break Down The Walls, Mamas Love, I Hate To Sleep Alone; all of the listed tracks are from the first Stone Fury album Burns Like A Star. Other tracks include Lies On The Run, Too Late, Babe, Let Them Talk, and Eye of the Storm (from the album Let Them Talk). This album is worth getting for a few reasons. First, this is the core of melodic rock from the 80's. Second, it features Lenny Wolf in his pre-Kingdom Come days. Third, it simply is good music. A couple of the tracks are not necessarily hits, but a Stone Fury fan will relish this CD as I have. I have fond memories of the 80's decade and listening to this disc brings the best of those times to mind. If you can listen to one of the songs before you purchase, I recommend "Life Is Too Lonely" or "Break Down the Walls" - these songs are indicative of the melody and structure of most of the music you will listen to if you ever own this disc. This is an overlooked gem. The 1984 album Burns Like A Star contributes 5 songs to this compilation as does 1986's Let Them Talk.Read full review
an absolute MUST for any kingdom come fan. i have seen a used cd of just "burns" for over $100, this has both full cds on one disk. there are a couple tracks i tend to skip, but are not "bad". and a couple can be found (redone) on some of the later KC cds, and i just LOVE the rest. Lenny's vocals are so tight and creative and this is "80's rock", so if you are familiar with KC/this genre, you will not be disappointed. i have zero regrets. "let them talk" and "babe" alone are worth $15 to me, and that scream/wale thing with a dark twist near the end of "burns like a star" will just blow your mind. classic Lenny X10. there are a few 80's musical cliches in there, but there is still plenty of great rock to make up for it. for fans especially, or anyone sick of today's "crap-rock", i HIGHLY recommend this double cd.Read full review
This is a good CD, if you're a fan of Stone Fury. I listened to Stone Fury when I was a late teen, and Burns Like A Star is my favorite SF album. Though this CD contains most of the songs form that CD, it does not contain all of them. So while this CD contains some of Stone Fury's best, it does not contain all of them. I also don't think some of the selections on this CD qualify as the band's best: Lies on the Run, Babe, and Eye of the Storm, for example. These are just not the raw, powerful Stone Fury of Burns Like A Star.
