Like or love - fast, prints nicely. Dislike - uses quite a bit of ink (even on FAST ECONOMY, the most thrifty setting as regards ink usage), particularly black. It's also quite noisy. One major reason I decided to buy it is that my son recommended it (he has one). I made the mistake of buying one without ink. The ink costs as much as the printer.
BEST CHOICE FOR LARGE VOLUME BUSINESS The best printer if you have large volume of prints. Either color or black. Make sure you purchase a CISS in order to use bulk ink. Don't be fooled or even think about purchasing Epson inks or you will end up paying more than what your HOUSE is worth down the road. Business mean profit for you not for Epson. You do not need to worry about voiding the warranty by using CISS, if something goes wrong a few years later you can buy another printer and use the same CISS. This printer does a great job with great quality. Find a nice bulk ink supplier on eBay and start getting real money in your pockets. Good luck,
Love the speed and quality of the black and white prints. Very limited color printing at this time, but it seems to be very good. Ink is very expensive unless you buy it off ebay, and then it isn't bad. It has a very small footprint for its quality.
As far as using dye or pigment inks, this printer can't be beat as far as cost and quality! HOWEVER ... If using dye sublimation inks, YOU SHOULD turn printer OFF WHEN NOT IN USE so the ink does not dry in the print head. Once it's dried, you can almost be sure that you will need to buy a new printer. I've had to learn this lesson twice as inks dried in head after 3 months of daily use. Also run weekly cleaning cycles.
The Epson Work Force 30 is an excellent printer for small spaces. It produces clear prints in color as well as b&w jobs. It replaced our Epson Stylus 640 color printer because our new computer with Windows 7 does not take a multi-pin connector. In our experience Epson printers are work-horses and last a long time with no problems. Easy to install ink cartridges. We plugged it in and Windows 7 "found" the driver so that we printed test documents immediately. Epson designs better ink cartridges than HP -- never had one leak ink. So far nothing to dislike and everything to love!
