I've always enjoyed playing the Command and Conquer Series games, so when I found the newest one was available for PS3, I had to get it. The game is still fun, although it does take some getting used to when operating on the PS3, compared to the PC. Navigating around the map isnt as easy as the PC, but it only slightly hinders the playability. The game definately seems new and improved, and I appreciated that the actors in the game were actual celebrities that I recognized. Overall, I would give this game a 7 out of 10, the scrimmage games keep me playing, since I can build up my army the way I want and I dont have to follow the storyline. The only thing wrong I would say is that it does takes some getting used to playing on a game console.
Being a hard core C&C fan I could not wait to get my copy of RA3. Though my current economic situation forced me to wait 3 months to get it, I had much anticipation. When it arrived, I inserted it into my PS3 and naturally I had to update. Then I finally got to watch the intro. I will say, the cut scenes that I have seen are great!! Though it seems this is where most of the games funding went to, getting the actors. Due to this, im my opinion the gameplay and most definately the graphics suffered. The radar map looks like something from ATARI. Also, there appears to be a glitch in the audio. Though it could just be the copy that I have, but whenever I go into actual gameplay, then pause the game, when I go back to play I have lost all sound and have to totally quit the game and go back to have any sound at all. Sometimes even at random the sound will go out. On another note, the story line is pretty good, and the units have a lot of cool features unlike in the past when everything had basically one function. Lastly, I feel that if the devs put more effort into the game itself and not in the acting it would have been much more appealing to fans of the C&C franchise.Read full review
Love this game use to play all the diff versions on the computer when I was younger. Brings it back and really fun on the PlayStation. Deff worth the few bucks if you were into this game when they came out years ago.

I would have said rated excellent if this game actually worked. When I got the game, it played fine but then the sound didn't work. It's a gamble whether or not when you start up the game that the sound works. You can still play but there is no sound which is really annoying. When I went online and searched for sound issues for Red Alert 3, a whole bunch of sites came up. EA really needs to fix this because a lot of people have problems and it isn't cool when you spend money and expect a perfect game and get this. It's just disappointing. But otherwise, this game is really fun and addicting.
disappearing sound i have to reboot when the game sound disappears.

This is just what I needed to enjoy the next level of gameplay. Real time strategy style, Typical Command and Conquer gameplay with some crazy off the wall vehicles, and weapons. Not to mention the deadly bears, robot samurai, and (like DR. Evil said..) "some freakin dolphins with lasers" to go into battle with...an army you build and then destroy the bases around you for there so-called precious "Ore", which equals to money in the game, the more ore the more you can build whether expanding your base, or building your fleet of vehicles/army. It Real Time Strategy so its all depends on what you need to do. Creative Intense gameplay, If you like C&C type games, this is there best yet. One of my all time old skool RTS was "Populus: the beginning", and this Red Alert 3 has WAY more intense battles at a faster pace, but if you'd like Populus then this is the game you need to get. This game is definitely staying as part of my PS3 game collection. If you read this far and still thinking about getting this game. Just GET IT already, trust me you get HOOKED. I highly recommend this game if your getting a RTS type game. I don't think theres another game that could battle with this.Read full review
Hi there! Being that I own every Command and Conquer game made.....I have to say that I liked the new Red Alert 3 but at the same time was disapointed. I guess i'm too used to the PC platform versions. I found the amount of options( buildings, upgrades, vehicles, superweaons, etc.) to be lacking and the graphics were a bit prehistoric and I mean that you can't zoom in to see the detail of the characters like you can on a PC not to mention the lack of size of army you can have and their is no map builder. Over all the game has a decent story behind it. On a scales of 1-10 I would have to go with a 7 to 8. This is hard for me to say since I am a HUGE fan of the Command and Conquer series. I hope this is useful to the next person. Buy it, play it, and sell it is my opinion. Definitely not worth 60 Dollars.Read full review
For the ultimate in war strategy combined with base building and supply lines, you can't beat this game.

Having owned and absolutely loving Generals: Zero Hour for the PC, I am fairly disappionted with RA 3 for the PS3. There is plenty of eye candy...Especially the Soviets... but the game play is cumbersome. The "drill" style menu is inconsistant when trying to build an army, control units, manage secret protocals, and generally do 9 things at one time. Where speed of navigating menues is key, this "drill" menu system is a hinderance. Game gets stale fairly quickly. I also own C&C for the N64 and I would have hoped the franchise would have progressed much farther than its current inception. Liked: Great acting cast.
Great game, fun game play
