      One of the Better Odyssey Movies

      I would not say "better than expected." It had been several decades since I saw this movie on a B/W TV, cut up, with commercials added. The story is great (based upon Homer's Odyssey) but most of the actors are speaking Italian and are dubbed and it shows, much like in most Spaghetti Westerns. The film quality is not the best but most of the acting and special effects made me overlook any shortcomings in the movie. The Korean subtitles were easy to turn off and I'm glad, for the most part, that it was in English. The scene that stood out most in my memory was when Ulysses (Kirk Douglas) was tied to the mast so he could listen to the Song of the Sirens while the crew all had wax in their ears. If my memory serves me well then they changed the ending--in the version of the translation ...
