Reviews
Ranked #79 in EW's "100 Best Movie Soundtracks" - "...The Heads at their idiosyncratic, syncopated best...", 4 stars out of 5 - "...shows the Heads punk-funkin' with their signature mix of giddiness and anxiety until the tension busts wide open on the exuberant aerobics workouts that defined the show....at the height of their powers...sound even better the second time around.", "...The new sequence allows for a smoother development....allows Byrne to take advantage of the huge advances in analog/digital conversion over the last decade....adding greater ambient 'warmth' to the album in general...", 5 stars out of 5 - "...in terms of its concept and execution, STOP MAKING SENSE went further than any other document of a band onstage....proved that a scratchy Rhode Island art rock band could stage as damn funky a revue as James Brown, Sly Stone, George Clinton or Prince.", Included in Q Magazine's "50 Best Albums of 1999."

Ultimate find, I was looking for one of these for a long time, and when I found this one I had no hesitation in purchasing it, the seller was extremely helpful and communicated very well. The price with the postage was very reasonable and when I got it home the item looked better in person than it did in the picture

Rare book - particularly in new condition - listed at a reasonable price, which included postage. Packaged fairly securely - and arrived in perfect condition. Happy to have found a copy - and with the order overall.

  • Good CD but not all there

I have a copy of the movie and this CD sounds different in parts. The one that stood out for me is that the track of "Life During Wartime" is not from the movie. In the movie it ends with David Byrne asking the audience "does anyone have any questions?" On the CD David Byrne tells the audience they are going to take a short break - this the same track on the "Once In A Lifetime" best of CD. The mixing is different to the movie audio. What I noticed was a lot of the more intricate guitar work by Jerry Harrison and Alex Weir is barely noticeable. This was obvious in the track of "This must be the place (Naive Melody)". Do feel a little short changed that there are recording(s) that come from elsewhere. Despite of the above nitpicking, it's Talking Heads. How can you fault it? It's now one ...

Fantastic album. A stone cold classic, made better by an outstanding remaster.
