Not as advertised! I bought a game that was supposedly new in box with original shrink wrap. It arrived with a 6+ inch knife slash through the top cover, resulting tear in the “original shrink wrap”. One of the corners is also smashed in. This was supposed to be a gift!!! I contacted the seller and no response, whatsoever. Would highly not recommend this seller.

Oh, i'm so sorry for your cut in the shrink wrap, and smashed corner of the box. Maybe when buying a gift, you shouldn't pick the cheapest one, with visible damage in the listing pictures! You're mad because i didn't respond to your endless string of complaints, trying to get free money AND KEEP the game! If you had such a problem with it, why didn't you return it? Because you got a good deal on it? Make sure you don't mention anything good, you're supposed to be complaining for free $!!!

    great cheap mic pre

got mine for $125 and for that price it's amazing. I bought it to get 4 more channels @ 96KHz for my UAD Apollo twin and it does excellently (only 1 ADAT in on the Apollo). No problems, sound is quite good. I don't think you'll find anything cheaper and honestly, unless you were to drop at least $750 you probably wouldn't hear any discernible sonic differences.

    Not Happy !

I give a good review only because I know Motu products. I have not been able to use my purchase . My complaint is the item description. The manufacture on this purchase says the item is USB 2.0 compliant. ( The MOTU 8pre Digital Recording Interface is a USB 2.0 audio interface with eight microphone preamplifiers and two eight-channel ADAT optical ins with two, eight-channel ADAT optical outs. The MOTU 8pre Digital Recording USB Interface delivers full 24-bit/96kHz audio resolution and will work for either Mac or PC computers. ) This USB 2.0 compliance is the reason I purchased this item. I am not very computer literate so maybe I misunderstood its compliance. What it has is firewire attachments and now I have to find some way to crossover to USB 2.0 without reducing sound quality. Like I ...

  • ideal for small studios, mobile rigs...

The preamps sound good---although I like my RME interface's preamps and my FMR audio RNP better sonically. I like their cuemix a lot. This is a very simple interface, with only one stereo pair of analog out, and a headphone out. The ADAT connections are great (it has two pairs). The only complaint I had was that the toggle switches for 20db pad and for phantom power felt a bit loose as you toggle them or push on them. I really like having meters on the front for each channel, and that it works well as a standalone preamp or converter. This could easily work as a headphone monitoring solution, and different mixes can even be setup between the outputs and the headphones (by hooking to a computer and using the cuemix).

  • MOTU 8pre FireWire Audio Interface

The MOTU 8Pre provides eight analog microphone / line inputs to your computer via firewire. For each channel there is 48v phantom power for condenser microphones and a 20db pad for high level sources. It sounds very good and interfaces perfectly with MOTU Digital Performer recording / sequencing application. The 8Pre does not function as a stand-alone mixer. It must be connected to a computer in order to monitor the input signals by headphone or main-outs.

  • MOTU 8Pre 8 Channel interface/preamp

I actually have several of these and have been using the 8pre for a number of years. Its proven to be a good sounding, flexible and solid piece of gear. I've recently added a second unit and am running them for a total of 16 channels. On board preamps mean I don't need a separate mixer to record well. CueMix software works great for zero latency monitoring and multple mixes. I've been using this with a Macbook Pro (Intel) without fail, I did use it with my PC (XP) and it worked without difficulty as well, but I've heard stories.
