This is my third Fuji Finepix camera, and it is easy to use, while producing excellent pictures. The only reason that I didn't give this camera 5 stars is that two previous cameras of this type have died on me. One really does not count, because some batteries corroded inside of the camera and ruined the connections. However, the other camera was not subjected to anything that should have caused a problem. It just quit working. Hopefully, the camera that I have just bought will have a long life, because it really does a good job

I had one of these before and was happy with it until it jammed. I bought another model fuji camera (a Finepix JX) but found it to be not what I really wanted. First of all I had several memory cards for the A500 and secondly I liked being able to use AA batteries in it. The new camera uses a different card and has a rechargeable pack in it. That means I have to have a separate charger for it. I'm in construction so I use the A500 for taking pictures in basements and attics when I work in them to show my customers any problems that I run into. Its a little more hardy than the new one. The JX just doesn't work out for the job so it sits on the shelf. I also found that the JX directions are a lot more complicated than the A500. Too bad they don't make the A500 anymore. I'm happy I was able to find this used one. Its just what I wanted.Read full review
In general, the Fujifilm A500 is a decent camera with most of the features you'll need. The only downfall I could think of is the lack of control over shutter speed. After hearing that the firmware for Canon cameras can be hacked to have extremely low shutter speeds (in addition already being able to customize it), I realized that I couldn't even control mine on the Fujifilm. The "Sport" setting is supposed to compensate for movements, but it doesn't do the best job. You'll need a VERY steady hand to take crispy shots or else 90 percent of your photos will be blurred. Other than that it enables you to do normal shots where the focus is evenly distributed and "Macro" shots to use depth of field and focus on a specific object while blurring the background/foreground. The sensors are very accurate so you won't have to worry about the wrong settings. For the fact that I paid around 20 bucks total for it, I'd give it 10 starts out of 5... But compared to its competition, it could be better in some areas. The average person probably wouldn't notice.Read full review
This is an inexpensive, easy to use camera that takes great photos. It is perfect for a family or for somebody who wants to post pictures online. I use it to sell my stuff on ebay. One read of the manual and you can see how easy it is. The LCD menu on the backside is self explanatory and easy to follow. I have no trouble operating it and have never needed help or repair. I dropped an A400 which ruined the lens and I had to replace it for very little money. I was able to do that with the A500. I recommend Fuji cameras highly and especially this inexpensive model. The software is a breeze and XP downloads everything automatically with no special knowledge on my part. Good deal all the way around.
Camera is simple to operate and produces quality photos. I will try to find some rechargeable lithium-ion batteries to replace the AA's currently used in the camera. Pleased with everthing except battery (note: Found a lot of Ray-O-Vac AA's with 2017 use date for "cheap" price and it now meets or exceeds all requirements.
It’s really simple to use and is compact enough to take on the go out or going on vacation. If you don’t do well with complicated technology, like me, and still want a quality camera definitely recommend. Shipping was super fast as well.

One of the buttons on the camera is sticky, but besides that, it works well

I brought this camera for my daughter (6), perfect..better than any of those "Kids Cameras", its really easy to download the pictures and enough memory space to have some pictures save there, and there's always the option to another memory card with more space. The LCD Display is relativity small in comparison of today's cameras but again, it defeat the purpose.
everything was as described, camera is functional and good quality in my opinion

Quality pictures for the dollar. Solidly built, good design fits well in you hand. Only drawback is it uses XD memory stick instead of a standard SD card.
