This setting is perfect if you’re lucky enough to have a great tube amplifier and want to let its natural tone shine through. You can, of course, shape the EQ, but the key is that there’s no coloration of the signal aside from what the instrument and output give you. This pedal works great with the amps Marshall is known for, but you can also pair it with any other brand of amps and achieve equally phenomenal results.The Blues set of adjustments is a little more hands on. The gear now adds its own color to the tone, which gives it just a little gain while leaving room for both rhythm and lead tones. The effect is subtle, but it does an excellent job of giving you just the right feeling. Moreover, you can combine this pedal with other pedals in your signal chain or even an amp that provides some of its own distortion. There’s a huge range of possible effects because layering more gain on top of the BB's effect leads to quite a range of sounds. These vary from warm and fuzzy to crunchy and cool. The notes are never washed out or muddy, and they maintain clarity at all times no matter how hard you push.If what you want is that original midcentury, bluesy feel, then look no further. A good amplifier is necessary to give you the full experience, and the BB from Marshall is probably the best pedal for just that sound.
