All die-hard East Coast rap fans, especially followers of the Notorious B.I.G., owe it to themselves to get real familiar with this album and the two that predated it. If you were to take this duo's best five songs away from them, they'd still be one of the top duos rap music has ever seen.
Reviews3.5 Stars - Very Good - "...LIVE AND LET DIE is a ruffneck album that, despite its harsh content, should finally take Kool G Rap & D.J. Polo `above ground'..."
Additional InformationOriginally released in 1992, the third and final album from Kool G Rap & DJ Polo fell victim to election-year politics with Warner Bros refusing to distribute it due to its explicit content and album cover. Nevertheless, LIVE AND LET DIE stands as a seminal hardcore hip-hop masterpiece as the pioneering NY lyricist perfects his relentless, rapid-fire flow over the classic middle-school era production from Sir Jinx and Trackmasters. G Rap’s brutal gangsta storytelling on classics like “On the Run” and “Ill Street Blues” virtually introduced the genre to the East Coast.
