Lightening Force: Quest for the Darkstar is a video game and the second entry into the Thunder Force series for the Sega Genesis gaming system. Best shooting game ever made for the Genesis game console
There is simply nothing wrong about it. Even the music is awesome and original. Fast, great graphics, tough but not R-Type tough and addictive. Weapons are well balanced and the over all experience is beautiful. Atmosphere is beyond cool and the whole game seems ahead of its time and it uses the limited Genesis' system resources beautifully.

Amazing, genre defining horizontal shooter from 1992. The gameplay, graphics, and music will subvert your expectations on what to expect from a Sega Mega Drive/Genesis game. If you're a Sega fan, even if you don't usually play horizontal shooters, you must try this masterpiece.
