Sharp, lightweight and inexpensive
I was looking for the sharpest lens available for micro 4/3, and the only thing I knew was Leica Nocticron worth $1600. Even though reviews say it's fabulaou, that's way too much for my amateur use.
Then I found a comparison of 3 42.5-45mm lenses and this Olympus 45mm f/1.8 was the second sharp after the Nocticron, wow! For about a $200, yes!
Now, after I've been using it for some time already, I must say, it is sharp. Sharper than my Panasonic 25mm f/1.7. Way sharper than my Olympus 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 EZ.
Yet, it looses some sharpness after f/2.8 and lower. At 1.8, it even gives darker pictures (that's strong vignetting, I guess). I want to make a comprehensive comparison at f/1.8 and higher up to 4.0 and watch every pixel. Maybe later :-)
I'm definitely happy with the lens. I consider it's a must-buy 45mm (90mm equivalent) for 4/3 cameras.
