Product Information

Director Sam Raimi's first film has achieved legendary status since its 1982 release, and for good reason. Though perhaps not as widely seen as its two sequels, EVIL DEAD 2 and ARMY OF DARKNESS, THE EVIL DEAD is arguably the best of the three. It is the story of five college-age friends who travel to a cabin in rural Tennessee where the stumble upon the Book of the Dead, an ancient tome bound in human flesh and inked in blood. After unwittingly awakening the unspeakable terror told of in the book, each of the friends is transformed into the evil dead, one by one, except for Ash (Bruce Campbell). So, Ash is left with no other way to survive than to dismember the living corpses of his sister, girlfriend, and two of his friends. Shot on a shoestring budget, the film boasts some impressive camera work and extremely over-the-top gore effects as well as a sense of humor much more subtle than the tongue-in-cheek aesthetic of the two sequels.

    Good Seller. 3-stars for shipping time, it took the seller 9-days to drop it off to the USPS (14-days total). 2-stars communication for not letting me know of the delay. The seller packed the DVDs well in a used bubble wrap sleeve in a used box. On inspecting the condition of the DVDs; two are new, and one of the 3 used ones has a crack or scratch (see pics) hence the 4-stars for description. I hope the latter doesn't affect the playing of it, as of now, I haven't watch it or any of the others.

    I love ❤️ the way they made it look on the dvd 📀 , it felt like 👍 👌 😍 watching 👀 a old vhs 📼 tape, it's like the old days, good time! everything was in good shape but I noticed in the case that the case holder was broken on a tip corner, and the disc got a couple of scratches, but it worked well no skipping ect. 😉 🎬 if you love Horror movies a must have!

    One of my favorites 😍

    Timeless classic, I love it. In my opinion the Elite DVD version is much better in pic quality than the Anchor Bay release. First watched this film when I was 14. I always referred to it as The Exorcist meets Rambo!
