    I can see room for improvement--a better indication of a seal, a lower price for replacement gaskets

    I bought a dozen to try them out. So far, I've used two and opened one of those jars. The jars seem to have sealed, but I don't feel 100% confident of that without the dimple in the typical metal lid. (The recommendation I've found is to take the screw top off, then try to lift the Tattler off with your hand. Of course, the real way to tell is listen for a hiss of air when you eventually open the jar for use. ;-) The lids are fairly expensive but probably a fair value. I anticipate using them long enough that I will eventually have to replace the rubber gaskets--the prices I've seen for those on ebay are ridiculous. You have to be careful when removing the lid to avoid damaging that rubber gasket when you open a jar. The recommendation I saw was to use something like a butter knife ...

    Great reusable lids.

    Tattler lids are great for canning because they are re-usable. The lids themselves are virtually indestructible and the rubber rings are replaceable. I do a lot of canning for others, and I use the regular lids for them, but for the canning I do for myself I'll be using the Tattler lids from now on - they're cheaper (in the long run - more expensive up front) and they seal just as well. Make sure you read the instructions if you've never used them before - they don't work exactly the same as the standard lids. If you follow the directions, you should have no problems.

    just follow directions leave the band on the jar for 24 hrs to make sure it seals all of mine did 9 pint jars. I almost want to open and reuse on some thing else. going to love this product.

    Reusable canning luds

    The Tattler Reusable lids are my 1st experience using reusable canning jar lids. I had absolutely no problem with them. I would recommend them to a beginner canner.
